Exclusive opportunity for a Head of Finance to join a PE-backed business based in Warrington. You will join the business at an exciting time as they've recently transitioned from being family-owned to PE backing. Reporting into an impressive Chief Exec, the role is ideal for a driven, ambitious qualified accountant seeking the next step in their career. You will take overall control of all aspects of the Company’s day-to-day financial management, to ensure that the company’s financial commitments are met and to develop all necessary policies and procedures to ensure the sound financial management and control of the Company’s business.

- Provide effective leadership and advice on all financial matters
- Actively contribute to the financial planning and strategic growth of the Company across all area of the business, challenging assumptions and decision making as appropriate.
- Ownership of the accounting system including chart of accounts, data interfaces, integrity of accounting data, upgrades and training.
- Driving improvements to the ERP system to create efficiencies in reporting processes
- Contribute to the achievement of the Company’s business objectives by providing financial guidance, support and advice.
- Driving the annual budgeting and re-forecasting process including identifying key opportunities and risks, monitoring performance and reporting on variances
- Ensuring compliance with relevant tax legislation and accounting standards including defining and instigating appropriate policies and procedures.
- Ensure effective oversight of all Company expenditure, through supervision , management, process control and authorisation procedures and policies.
- Lead and manage finance staff to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and developed so that they carry out their responsibilities to the required standard.
- Prepare the Company’s financial accounts and records to ensure that these are presented accurately and on time, including but not limited to; management accounts, profit and loss account, cash flow forecast, balance sheet, statutory compliance.
- Delivering commercial insight, analysis and deliver MI/KPI’s to review and manage business performance.
- Monitor external contracts and services provided by all suppliers to ensure that they are cost effective and financially efficient.
- Treasury management including cashflow forecasting and reporting, payments and FX risks.
- Ensure that the regulatory requirement of all statutory bodies are met, accurately and within the necessary time periods.
- Establish a high level of credibility and effectively manage working relationships with external parties, including but not limited to bankers, insurers, IT services providers and advisors
- Completion of Company Pension Administration duties
- Managing audit process and auditor relationship.
To be considered, you should have the following skills and experience;
- Qualified Accountant with track record of applying financial skills in a comparable business.
- Excellent commercial and business skills
- A strong belief in continual process improvement
- Extensive hands-on experience in a senior finance role
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- An analytical and enquiring mind
- Experience of private equity backed businesses would be advantageous.
